 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

AGA Silicon Valley Chapter provides quality continuing professional education (CPE) opportunities as a service to its members and to the government accountability profession.  This is accomplished, in part, by the monthly professional development meeting, which is generally held every third Thursday of the month.  The professional development meeting provides opportunities for professional development, facilitates the exchange of ideas; promotes quality financial management; and brings people together who are in the field of government finance and other accountability professions.  In addition, those attending enjoy good lunch and generally an hour instruction of general interest to government accountants, auditors, analysts, senior financial managers and executives, and other finance professionals.

Meeting participants come from federal, city, county, and local agency with different specialties, such as accounting, auditing, financial and budget analysis, contract management, and financial management.

In addition to the monthly meetings, the Chapter organizes and presents full day or multi-day training seminars.  AGA National also offers online training and professional development conferences - http://www.agacgfm.org/education/audioconferences/default.aspx.
