Regional Vice President's  Program Message
Hello California AGA Chapter Leaders,

I am here to serve as the Regional Vice President for the
California Region and looking forward working
with each of you in this program year, 2009-2010.

I would like to thank you for your time, dedication, and effort in
serving your local chapter and for what you have done with
AGA.  Not only you are serving your membership but your
entire local government financial community.   It is us who help
and promote AGA the thought leader in government financial
community. I am proud of your efforts and dedication to
promote accountability and transparency for a stronger
government.

AGA’s program year begins July 1 and ends June 30.  As part
of the program year, I encourage your chapter to participate in
the Chapter Recognition Program (CRP).  CRP is a non-
competitive program.   Having a professional development
meeting, offering training or seminar, recruiting new members
and retaining membership, issuing newsletter, chapter board
meeting, and many more are all activities that earned you credit
points for the CRP Program.  For all you know you already
earned the credits you’re requested to report in the CRP
Program, but remember to submit your report by the due date.

Reap the success!  We want you to be recognized and
honored.  Each chapter that participates in the CRP and
reaches its goals will be recognized at the 2010 AGA
Professional Development Conference & Exposition (PDC) to
be held in Orlando, Florida on July 11 – 14, 2010.  With proper
planning, coordination and execution, you will be honored with
one of the awards below in a Breakfast Event at the 2010
PDC.
Set your Chapter's goal to reach one of these:

·         Bronze Chapter Designation – 12,000 to 14,000 points

·         Silver Chapter Designation – 14,001 to 17,000 points

·         Gold Chapter Designation – 17,001 to 19,500 points

·         Platinum Chapter Designation – 19,501 points and above

But there are several exceptions.  If your chapter has not
recently participated in the CRP, you are given a goal of 3,000
credits for the first year.  The following year, AGA staff and
chapter officials will decide whether your goal should remain at
3,000 or be increased the following year.
Check the CRP Program at  http://www.agasiliconvalley.
org/CRP20092010.pdf for your
guide and I encourage you to take this up with your Chapter
Executive Board.

Remember, we, the California Regional Team, are here to
assist
you in executing AGA's goals, programs and mission in your
chapter.  Feel free to contact me or any of our California
Regional Team Member.  You can find our contact information
by visiting the Regional Team Site.  Let us work together and
do our part with fun and remember to enjoy of being a chapter
leader!
